Omaha Zoo!

The Henry Doorly Zoo has been on my "wanna do that" list for quite a while. We finally got to it after Thanksgiving. We took Roger's Uncle Roger (yes, two Rogers) (his dad's name is Roger, too, if you want to make it more confusing!) back to Council Bluffs, IA and decided to make a quick trip to the zoo. Here's what we saw:

Wow-- nothing like having a football stance. or is that a pregnancy stance?

Autumn.

i. love. autumn.

there is nothing sweeter than kids playing in the leaves with the warm sun shining down. nothing better than pumpkin bread and apple cider. nothing cozier than sweaters and knee-high boots.

i. seriously. love. autumn.

so when someone calls to invite us to play in their leaves we say "on our way!". and thank you.

we normally don't have many leaves in our yard due to our tiny trees that refuse to drop their leaves. this year, though, we had a small pile. pretty small. but that didn't matter to us. i raked them all from the sidewalk to the yard and we played. and played. and played.

thank you, Lord, for autumn.

Happy Halloweeeeeeen!

It is already Halloween. Wow. How this year has FLOWN by!

I have lots to post for the month of October but I had to get some Halloween pictures up before I get any more texts/phone calls/facebook messages/etc. My family is pretty crazy about these kids. So on with the show!

First up we had the most beautiful Curious George:

 Yes, folks. The Man with the Yellow Hat made an appearance!


We tried to make all of the costumes fit the "Curious George" theme but I was pretty sure only true George fans would know who Professor Wiseman was. So Titus and I went a totally different direction with our costumes.

Since Titus is pretty full of destruction, I thought this costume might fit him well- Titus the Shark:

And since most of the time I feel like a victim of Titus' wild behavior....

and for those who want to know, yes, I have TWO MORE MONTHS to go!

Titus Turns Two!

Conversation on the morning of Titus' birthday:
Mommy: "Good Morning Titus! Happy Birthday!"
Titus: "Thanks Mom! It IS my birthday! I'm TWO!"
Mommy: "Yes! You are! Do you want to spend your entire birthday in your car seat?"
Titus: "I do!"

... and so he did. We got in the car at 9am (Sept 6th) in southern New Mexico and he got out of his car seat at 1:30am (Sept 7th) in Nebraska. He is such a trooper! The entire way to and from New Mexico (about 15 hours each) there was not a single fuss, cry, or tear shed.

So we all slept in a little bit that day and then celebrated Titus' birthday that evening. Here are some of the (very few) (very un-creative) pictures I took at his party. I was too tired to think creatively...
