Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

Well, today was a big day for Mrs. Brinley Bear. She made her first friend. They met at our house while Mommy was putting on her make up. They got along great, but there still seemed to be something getting, uh, between them. This might explain things a little better....

Hope you are finding new friends today, too. :-)

A Snowy Sunday Afternoon...

This afternoon has been quite the lazy one. Even Brinley was feeling lazy this morning (sleeping TWELVE hours last night). She even slept through mom getting ready for church!! I believe that the weather is highly correlated with the laziness-isity. You see, it's quite snowy outside...

and therefore, we are all in the mood to "lounge". The only things we are going to do today is go to church (done), go to the store (boo), and then go to Life Group (yahoo!). So in the mean time (between church and the store, here are Roger's plans...

               (reading)

here are my plans...

            (getting lots of kisses)

and here are Brinley's plans...

(cuddle up in a nice warm blanket....

                                             ... and go to sleep)

We wish you a relaxing Sunday as well.

The Poo Strikes Again...

So Brinley has this bad habit of waiting three days to poop. She holds it in for three days and then BLOWS YOU AWAY with her poo. It gets EVERYWHERE!! The doctor says it is perfectly normal and that she is just fine. So... let's just have some fun with it. Here is how one diaper change goes:
 So you have the poo...

(up the back, up the front, ALL OVER)

As you can see... it gets EVERYWHERE

Now we have the clean-up...
It takes a shower to get everything off!

It is a job for two people. One holder, one soaper/scrubber.
(Mom has had to learn to do it on her own now, though)

Well.. I'm sure she's going to KILL ME when she's sixteen and someone finds this blog online. Haha.

So not much has happened since the last blog. We shopped a couple times, we hung out around the house and cleaned, etc. A big thanks to Great Great Aunt Cathy (aka Grandma Cathy) for taking our family out to eat at Red Lobster. YUMMO!

Hope you and yours are doing well.
                                            God Bless,

Cute sidenote: I made Brinley a cute little shirt for when we go to Simon Johnson's Upward Basketball games...

Go Simon!!!

Dedication Photos

Here are some photos Great Great Aunt Cathy took during Brinley's dedication...

Brinley yawning (Pastor Doug was preaching, can you blame her?)
Just kidding!

Looking adorable (Thanks for the dress, Aunt Shannon!)

Brinley's Dedication

We would like to thank everyone for attending Brinley's dedication at Cornerstone Berean Church yesterday. In attendance were: Great Grandma Gorn, Kay Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Robert Pierce, Cousin Autumn Baker, Britni Patterson, Great Aunt Vicki, Great Uncle Doug, Great Great Aunt Cathy, and Great Great Uncle Buck. I hope to post a video soon.
After the dedication and church service, we went to Runza to eat. Kay brought a cake for Roger's birthday and made the servers at Runza sing to Roger. Then some folks left and some came back to the house to play cards.
Later in the day while Mommy was gone, Daddy fed Brinley her first bottle.

Then at six o'clock Mommy and Daddy did something they have never done before (for more than ten minutes)... they left Brinley with "babysitters". Vicki and Doug watched Brinley while Mommy and Daddy went to a "Sweetheart Banquet" at church. Mommy and Daddy ate some delicious pork tenderloin stuffed with a spinachy thing, some loaded potato casserole, sesame green beans, a cranberry pear and almond salad, and cheesecake! YUM!! Then we RUSHED back to the hotel when Mommy realized it was already eight fifteen to find Vicki walking the hotel halls with Brinley. I guess she really liked watching the kids play in the pool. Needless to say, when we got home Brinley ate a HUGE meal and then we all went to bed (she was in bed by 10p -- earliest bedtime yet!)

Thanks for checking in with us! We love you and hope you had a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day.

Baking Cookies

We (Mom) decided that we should bake cookies for Valentine's Day. Mom made the dough and rolled it out. Then dad and Brinley cut out the cookies. I wanted to take a picture of dad and Brinley pushing the cookie cutter into the dough when Brinley grabbed the cutter and started banging it on the dough. I tried to switch over to the video camera quickly but couldn't get there very fast. As you can see, she had been cutting the dough for a while before I got the video setting on. There are all kinds of marks on the dough in front of her from her "cutting out cookies". We will be decorating these cookies tonight (Daddy's birthday) and then going to see the play "Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". Then great aunt Vicki  and Doug are coming for my dedication at church on Sunday!! I can't wait!!

Here's our little "Baker" ;-)

She loves the cookie cutter!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Our First Big Milestone!

Brinley rolled from her belly to her back today! She did it for Daddy and then Mommy videotaped the next time she did it. She can roll either direction (depending on where mom and dad are!). Time is RUSHING by and Mommy only has four weeks of maternity leave left... :-( We have enjoyed EVERY second with our little one and can't wait to see what is next. Here is the video of her rolling over...

Love ya!!
