Memorial Day Weekend 2011

What did you do over Memorial Day weekend? Apparently Kearney, NE was NOT the place to be! Instead of kicking it here, at home, (with rain, thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes) we went south. We left Friday morning and stopped in Denver ("Rado") to see my parents. Brinley was pretty excited to get in Grandma's swing.

The next morning (around 3am) we were off to New Mexico ("Meximo"). Daddy is THE MAN and so Brinley and I didn't wake up until we were over half-way there! Brinley did such a great job in her carseat. She hardly fussed at all. She fell asleep for the last hour or so of the trip.

Alright... now that we made it to New Mexico, prepare yourself for a swarm of photos- I'm tired of narrating.

She was always keeping track of where the "puppies" were. She would see one dog and then say "Puppy? 'Nother one?". Once she had a visual of both dogs she was able to relax. :-)

After all of this fun in the sun, Brinley was pretty tired. Nanny rocked Brinley to sleep every night and sung her whatever song she wanted (which always included at least 3 Wheels On The Bus, 3 ABC's, and many many La La Loo's). One night it seemed as though Nanny had been in the room for a long time putting Brinley to sleep. We all went in only to find her fast asleep, Brinley in her arms, in the rocking chair. It was too precious not to take a picture (which I promised her I would not put on the blog.... sorry!)

Aunt Nickie got very sick while we were there so we went to the hospital to spend time with her and cheer her up!

After a wonderful visit with Nanny, Grandpa, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Ben, Brooke, Gwen, Aunt Nickie, Aunt Kristy, Leif, and Aunt Linda we headed back home. We made one more stop in Denver-

She kept spraying herself and running away yelling and screaming "Get 'chu Brinley! Get 'chu Brinley!"

Well... that was our trip. It is now nearing 11:00p. I am ready for bed. The cub is getting pretty big and makes sitting at the desk quite uncomfortable! Good night!
