Brinley's First Haircut (and some cute bottoms)

I (Mommy) am going to admit it. I'm cheap. Super duper cheap. I have only purchased one new piece of clothing for myself in over four years (a pair of jeans two years ago). I make our laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, tooth powder, face wash, cleaners, etc. Sometimes that means my kids miss out on some of the things that other kids experience. I mean, we've been to the movies TWICE in almost four years and we have never been to the zoo. So it was time. Time for Brinley to have "the salon experience". We try hard to not put any emphasis on things like this (she's never painted her nails, for example) but I wanted her to get a "real" haircut for once.

The "Before":

She was quite nervous when we got to the salon. She wanted Mommy to go first (I was getting a cut, too). So I got my hair cut while she watched. Then it was her turn. She said "Mommy, I'm kinda nervous. Let's go home". With a little coaxing (and a cape with rainbow hearts on it) she got into the chair. Her response when she's forced into something that makes her nervous is a negative, grumpy attitude as you can see in the pictures:

FINALLY got a smile out of her
(and, yes, I got Ti to sit still using the iPod in the stroller)

Mommy and Brinley hair!

The after:

Like it?

Now, just for fun, are some cute little bottoms!
