So today was the dreaded day. We got all ready in the morning and I had her in a cute little outfit for her first day. Fifteen minutes before we are supposed to leave Roger comes in the door. I guess he thought he left his ID badge at home. So he rushed around, looked all over, couldn't find it and then left. Poor guy was running all over the place looking for it since they were waiting on him. I can't believe that happened... he is ALWAYS on top of things! So I was rushing around trying to help him when Brinley decided that it was her "poop day". She pooped all over herself. So I went back and got her all cleaned up and changed her into a new outfit. Then we left (insert scary music).
We got to work about 1:00 and as I walk in I see the dreaded sign on the door. "There has been a confirmed case of RSV in multiple rooms throughout the daycare". UGH! These images run through my mind:
"Well... there is nothing I can do about it" I told myself and marched back to her room. I didn't leave her room until 1:27 since I had to be in my room at 1:30 and had to park the car in the meantime. I left her with Julie but I guess Gretchen arrives the same time as I do so she will be with Gretchen all day. Gretchen does such a WONDERFUL job with the babies, it helps ease my mind a little. She did great! She nursed once (since I only worked until five), played, slept, etc. (I checked on her about five or six times). She was asleep when I picked her up. So the day was not as bad as I thought, but was definitely not easy. We will "get used to it" but I can guarantee that I will never LIKE it or think it is "good for her".
