Guess the Roll Game!

Welcome to Guess the Roll Game. If you have never played before, here is how the game works. I will post a picture of one of Brinley's fat rolls and you have to guess where the roll is on her body. For every fat roll you guess correctly, you get five points. The winner is the person with the most points at the end of the game. Is it her ankle fat roll? Is it her back fat roll? Is it her wrist fat roll? You'll find out here on "Guess the Roll Game!"

Let's get started. Here is roll number one:

Please write down your answer.

Here's roll number two:

Again, please write down your answer.

And roll number three:

Is your answer written down?

And now for the results.....

Roll number one was....
Leg Fat! Did you guess Leg Fat? If so, give yourself five points!

Roll number two was....
Armpit Fat! If you got that one correct, go ahead and write down five points!

Roll number three was...
The infamous Double Chin Fat! Five more points if you got that one correct.

Well, how did you do? Here is the scale:
1-5 points:  Have you even met Brinley?
6-10 points:  Eh. You'd better visit us.
11-15 points: Looks like you know your little Brinley Bear! Congratulations!

The winner wins a no-expense paid trip to NE to visit Brinley. Congratulations!!! We'll be seeing you soon!

Random Picture Post Day

I have some stray photos sitting in my library and instead of trying to blog on each and every one, we are going to have "Random Picture Post Day" and I am going to just post them all together. Here's to being random....

First Stroller Ride

After waiting what seemed like ages, we finally were able to take Brinley out of the house. The long winter has made it difficult to even THINK about a stroller ride, but last Tuesday God gave us a little bit of a break. It was still a bit chilly, but we decided to go for it. Brinley's FIRST STROLLER RIDE! Imagine the excitement.... I had the stroller set up beforehand so that when the weather was nice (as it was on Tuesday) we could get right out on the trail, I had Brinley strapped in with a blanket and the wonderful little JJCole "bag" (thanks Great Grandma and Grandpa Hermanson) that keeps her warm, I had the camera and my cell phone in the little compartment on the top of the stroller, I had Roger taking photos, etc. We were SET and was I ever excited. So we were walking along down to the mailboxes to check the mail and all of a sudden a ruckus occurred on the street next to us. This car pulled up and started honking like crazy. We looked to see what was the matter only to see Mrs. Tammy jump out of the car to see us. She, believe it or not, was almost just as excited about our first stroller ride as I was (What a relief.... I'm not crazy after all!). It was so awesome to have Mrs. Tammy, Matthew and Randy all a part of Brinley's first stroller ride. We are so blessed to have people in our life that get so excited to see us and our baby that they jump out of the car and run to see us! It's too bad Brinley wasn't interested in stopping to chat. She wanted to keep moving which led to her crying and carrying on. Poor thing. So we just walked to the mailbox and back to the house, but it was a trip nonetheless. Here are a couple pictures for you....

Ready to roll...

Like I said... not too happy

She didn't hate it the WHOLE time!

Hope you are able to get out into some sunshine soon, too!

Oh Poo!

Yea, I know, I know. You're asking yourself "Is this woman crazy about poo or what?" The answer is no. So why post more poo pictures, you ask? Well, because I want to enter these into the Guinness World Record Book. I think she might win for biggest bowel movement EVER. (I am also posting them because Aunt Shannon asked for it... direct your comments to her, please)
So here's the story. Brinley is laying quietly in her bouncer chair. I smelled something foul and so I took the strap off and this is what I found under it...
 Yea! I know!

Try taking this puppy off !!

Yea--- that's awesome, right?

Again, please direct any concerns and comments to Shannon Hermanson (Aurora, CO)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We want to wish you a Happy Saint Patrick's Day! We hope you had a wonderfully green day! :-)

Thumb Sucker!!

For the first time, Brinley put herself to sleep by sucking her thumb. It actually happened a while ago (March 1st) but I hadn't had time to post it. Here it is...

Hope your day didn't "suck"!!

Grandma Cindy's Visit!

Well we have had a WONDERFUL time these past couple days with Grandma Cindy. She arrived about nine o'clock (Brinley's bedtime) on Wednesday. She put Brinley to bed and we have been having a fun time since then. We wanted to go on a walk and go to the park but it seems that the weather is not cooperating with us. Apparently you can't take a three month old on a stroller ride in 30 degree weather with snow! Hmm...
So instead of going on our fun walk, we have been stuck inside. But nevertheless, it has been wonderful!
Here are some photos of our time so far...
Waiting and waiting for Grandma to arrive...

She's HERE!!!

Mommy made bread from SCRATCH!!

Laura would be proud...

Delicious!!

Nap time with Grandma Cindy! :-D

Chillin' with the G-Ma
Grandma Cindy is SO funny!

I love kisses!!!

I think Grandma Cindy loves me...

This is MY Grandma!! I love her!

We have had SO much fun together! Hope you enjoyed our pictures!

ps- Let's give Brinley a round of applause for having a poop "blowout" with Grandma Cindy while mommy was at work! (clap clap clap clap clap)

To My Great Grandma Shirley

Great Grandma Shirley, I love you. I made this video just for you!

The Night of the Pot Roast....

So I'm not quite sure why I decided one night to make a pot roast (I HATE pot roast), but I did. My very first pot roast. Here's how it turned out...

Looks disgusting, right? I guess it tasted pretty good since Roger snarfed it down that night and then ate it for the next four nights!

So after making this nice pot roast for Roger, I made my supper...
Yummy!! Cheese and salami sandwich! Now THAT looks good!!

I Love Life Group

I think I have mentioned previously about our "Life Group". It is basically a group of our friends from church that get together for a Bible Study once a week. We call it "doing life together". We are there for one another in struggles and good times, etc. We have a pretty awesome group of people in our Life Group- ok REALLY awesome! Here are some photos from Brinley's experience with Life Group:

Taking a quick snooze before we leave

Baking cupcakes for everyone with Mommy

Let's just say we have a big group! :-)

Hanging out with "Uncle Todd" :-)

She loves getting loved on by Holly!

She's the main attraction at Life Group now-a-days.

She loves Josie and Cole, too!

More playin' with Holly

Well, I guess it's pretty obvious that everyone in our life group ADORES our beautiful baby Brinley. She's the star of the show (especially when she played baby Jesus in our crazy version of the Nativity Story!). We love you, Life Groupers!! :-)

First Day At Daycare...

So today was the dreaded day. We got all ready in the morning and I had her in a cute little outfit for her first day. Fifteen minutes before we are supposed to leave Roger comes in the door. I guess he thought he left his ID badge at home. So he rushed around, looked all over, couldn't find it and then left. Poor guy was running all over the place looking for it since they were waiting on him. I can't believe that happened... he is ALWAYS on top of things! So I was rushing around trying to help him when Brinley decided that it was her "poop day". She pooped all over herself. So I went back and got her all cleaned up and changed her into a new outfit. Then we left (insert scary music).
We got to work about 1:00 and as I walk in I see the dreaded sign on the door. "There has been a confirmed case of RSV in multiple rooms throughout the daycare". UGH! These images run through my mind:

"Well... there is nothing I can do about it" I told myself and marched back to her room. I didn't leave her room until 1:27 since I had to be in my room at 1:30 and had to park the car in the meantime. I left her with Julie but I guess Gretchen arrives the same time as I do so she will be with Gretchen all day. Gretchen does such a WONDERFUL job with the babies, it helps ease my mind a little. She did great! She nursed once (since I only worked until five), played, slept, etc. (I checked on her about five or six times). She was asleep when I picked her up. So the day was not as bad as I thought, but was definitely not easy. We will "get used to it" but I can guarantee that I will never LIKE it or think it is "good for her".
