Brinley's First Haircut (and some cute bottoms)

I (Mommy) am going to admit it. I'm cheap. Super duper cheap. I have only purchased one new piece of clothing for myself in over four years (a pair of jeans two years ago). I make our laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, tooth powder, face wash, cleaners, etc. Sometimes that means my kids miss out on some of the things that other kids experience. I mean, we've been to the movies TWICE in almost four years and we have never been to the zoo. So it was time. Time for Brinley to have "the salon experience". We try hard to not put any emphasis on things like this (she's never painted her nails, for example) but I wanted her to get a "real" haircut for once.

The "Before":

She was quite nervous when we got to the salon. She wanted Mommy to go first (I was getting a cut, too). So I got my hair cut while she watched. Then it was her turn. She said "Mommy, I'm kinda nervous. Let's go home". With a little coaxing (and a cape with rainbow hearts on it) she got into the chair. Her response when she's forced into something that makes her nervous is a negative, grumpy attitude as you can see in the pictures:

FINALLY got a smile out of her
(and, yes, I got Ti to sit still using the iPod in the stroller)

Mommy and Brinley hair!

The after:

Like it?

Now, just for fun, are some cute little bottoms!

Brinley Gets Pre-Wrapped

Brinley had a big weird thing on the bottom of her foot. It's been there for a few weeks and me, being the "picker" that I am, couldn't leave it alone. So today I, with MUCH screaming and crying, dug around down there and tried to figure out what it was. Still not too sure what it was but I got whatever it was.
Then Brinley got her treat--a cool band-aid (we give those out VERY rarely around here) and some pre-wrap. She feels pretty darn cool. Check it out:

:-) Love that girl.

Guess Whaaaaaaaaat!!!

That's right! Baby Baker should make their grand debut late December 2013.
We are thrilled with the idea of adding to our chaos and filling this house a little more with another sweet baby.

Here are some pictures from our 11w3d ultrasound at Collage Center here in Kearney, NE.

The close ups:

Waving at us!

This ultrasound experience was the most fantastic experience. Brinley and Titus did not move during their ultrasounds and they looked quite a bit more "alien" than we saw in these.
The ultrasound tech (Joey from Collage) was AMAZING. Watching our little baby all over the screen and seeing all their little body parts and features are so cool. Joey had a woman shadowing her that day and when she got on the machine, this baby started to move quite a bit. He/she flipped flopped all around.
The heartbeat was also amazing to see. Quick little beats pounding away in there. We are so excited to meet this little squirt!

Thanks for sharing in our excitement!
