Oh Poo... the Flu!

Brinley's got it. Influenza A. Poor baby. 104.3 temp. cough, "nasty boogers", etc. We've been on a Jungle Book marathon for about forty eight hours now. Check this poor girl out...

Col.Oh.Rad.Oh. (Part Three)

Donuts. It's been a long-standing tradition for my parents to go out for donuts before church. It started when I was dragged, kicking and screaming, to confirmation at our Lutheran Church. I sat in class and listened to lecture after lecture while they ate donuts. Ugh.

I am now able to fully enjoy this pre-worship celebration and bring my kids along. We always go to Winchell's Donuts near my parent's church. Maz (the manager) always has my parent's cinnamon rolls and coffees ready for them. It's pretty sweet. Then we come rolling into town. No cinnamon rolls here, please. Just sprinkles. She'd eat sprinkles on anything. Doesn't matter what's under the sprinkles. Cake donut, yeast donut, Brussels sprouts. Just sprinkles on top, please.

Then we were off to church. No pictures there, sorry Pastor Matthew. And then on the road.

Grandpa was loading Brinley into her seat and I told him "Get her out-- gotta get a quick Grandparent pciture" -- because we always forget to take one!

The ride home was MUCH MUCH better than the ride there. (Props to the kiddos). Then we were back in the arms of our sweet Daddy. Titus was pretty stoked about that!

Thanks for letting us come out, Grandpa and Grandma! Thanks for buying a car for us to buy from you the next day! Thanks for taking us out to eat and making us supper! Thanks for being wonderful Grandparents!

Col.Oh.Rad.Oh. (Part Two)

I just realized that in the last post I forgot a little something. That post made it seem like we jumped in the car and had a wonderful 6 hour drive to Denver. Whoops. My mistake. Here's how it went down- I (intentionally) didn't give Brinley a nap hoping that she would be really tired and go to sleep shortly after we left the house around 7p. Boy oh boy was that a mistake. As mentioned in the previous post, Titus is not that into his carseat. So here we are, 8p and Brinley fades off to sleep. Perfect, right? Yea. Until my sweet little boy decides he's is tired of his carseat and screams. and screams. and screams. So this wakes up my overly tired daughter so she is crying. and crying. and crying. Then Titus is so tired from crying (I tried EVERYTHING) that he falls asleep. Then Brinley's whining wakes him up to cry. Then Brinley tires out and begins to fall asleep when his crying wakes her up. It was back and forth back and forth. I told Roger that if I am going inpatient to please at least let me have my computer. I mean.... I could have some good blogging material there I would assume. But we made it. About four hours into the trip we got them both to sleep. Ahhhhh... the silence was sweet!
Sweet victory!

So back on with the picture show, eh?

After touring Grandpa and Grandma's work places, we went out to Five Guys Burgers and Fries for supper. YUM!

That next morning around 3:30a, Daddy left so that he would make it back to work Saturday afternoon. He said the roads were treacherous, snow-packed and icy. He preferred that I not drive so the kids and I stayed all day Saturday and left Sunday after church. Here's what we did on Saturday:

Brinley took a shower-

And then enjoyed being diaper-free for a little while. (No we haven't been potty trained yet. I'm in absolutely NO rush and do NOT feel like arguing with her or cleaning up messes.)

Titus got bathed-

Then Grandma left to go clean Granny and Papa's new apartment. (Granny and Papa are my paternal grandparents who are moving form San Antonio to Denver ... much to Papa's dismay and our excitement!)
Bye bye kisses from Grandma

Reading the books Grandpa bought for her
Titus checked out the fish-

And then we were off to the Butterfly Pavilion!
(Please excuse the camera phone pictures. I had my camera but when we got there I took three pictures and it began flashing "Shutter Release Disabled. Low Battery". Niiiiiiiiice)
This was her when we pulled up to the Butterfly Pavilion. Oh joy.

She was ready to hold the tarantula but you have to be 3 years old. :-(

Titus had fun!

She got to watch them release some butterflies!

Watching the butterfly eat artificial nectar from sponges

Not sure why but it was TOTALLY creeping me out to hold the butterfly.
I tried holding it in because I didn't want her to be scared of them but it was tough!

Haha. This one just cracks me up.

With the "big big bug"
After the our trip to the Butterfly Pavilion, we hung out at Grandpa and Grandma's house
  while Grandma made supper-- YUMMMM

What a day! Next up... donuts and church on Sunday!
