Friends, Food, and FIRE!

We have the coolest friends. Just sayin. They call you up, invite you to Sandy Channel for a BONFIRE. They bring a stinky dog and smores stuff. What's better than that? Not very many things. So after Roger and I got off work we headed to Elm Creek for "The Fire" (as Brinley called it).

The men did not mess around when they gathered wood!

Uncle Todd

The Waterhouse family doing the worship music... wonderful!

Caleb went into survival mode and brought all sorts of stuff that would make scout leader proud. One of those things was (what's it called?) a flint (?) stone. Basically one of those things that you scrape and it makes sparks. Anyways--  he was teaching Gage to use it and showing him how to start a fire. (Good idea? I'm still not sure...)
Hopefully Brinley didn't learn anything
Gage caught on QUICKLY!

Still working on that fire...

HOORAY!! HE GOT IT!

One was not enough... he started on number two!

Nice little fire!

Tending the fires

"It needs more wood!"

It really got going!

The after-effects of a bonfire... oh my!
Thanks again to the Waterhouse family for arranging the bonfire- perfect night! We love you guys!

First Road Trip with Two Wee Ones!

Tracy's having a baby! Yes... I know that I already announced that on the blog but I am getting very excited to meet her little one. She is not very far along (about 15wks) but she was going to be in Denver for her 10 year high school reunion this past weekend so I thought it would be a good time for a baby shower (baby shower pics will be on next post). So I packed up the wee ones and took off on my first road trip with TWO kids!

First I packed- my packing is getting better and better due to the fact that I have more and more kids stuff to take along. (Side note: I didn't forget anything for the kids or myself! Go ME!)

We had a few short stops along the way...

Then we made it and Grandpa and Aunt Tracy finally got to meet and hold Titus!
Grandpa's first time meeting Titus

Aunt Tracy was very excited to hold him
(but could only hold him certain ways since
he was pushing on her stretching tummy!)
Grandma put us to work- she is remodeling her kitchen and needed advice on how to hang her new signs... she's going retro- think "Gunther Toody's"!

Titus had a hard time going to sleep after sleeping on the car ride so he fell asleep watching TV with Grandpa!

Aunt Tracy loved hanging out with her niece and nephew!

And then this happened:
He spit up DOWN her shirt and it pooled on her growing tummy! Nice job Titus!

Brinley wore her "My Aunt is my BFF shirt" to bed!
Shortly after this picture was taken Brinley said she wanted to go downstairs to "look at the fish" (Grandpa has a fish tank in the family room). Later she came upstairs and said to Grandma "It's swimming with the fish, Grandma!" Grandma asked what was swimming with the fish. Mommy went down to look and saw a plastic toy fish and a bath toy sting ray floating in the top of the fish tank. Oh silly girl.
The fish didn't get a break, either because later she nearly emptied the "water clarifier" into the tank!
She's a natural!

She got to eat a cupcake before anyone else!

Titus got some Great Aunt Vicki lovin
During Tracy's baby shower Brinley was going to go to the Butterfly Pavillion with Grandpa. I had hyped it up quite a bit that week so that she wasn't too upset to leave the party. Grandpa's golf tournament took a little longer than expected and they didn't leave the house until 3:45p. The Pavillion listed their closing time as 5:00p so we thought that they would still have enough time to see everything so they left. Turns out that they close their doors at 4:15p and poor Grandpa and Brinley showed up at 4:20p. OH WELL.... she still got to look in the windows and see the "Big Bug"
Classic.

Everytime she sees this picture she says
"WOAH- THAT'S A BIG BUG!"
Titus was rockin' the Aunt Shannon "Tie Shirt" for the baby shower. If you want one, please leave a comment on this blog or let me know... I'm trying to get her to open an Etsy shop because they are stinkin' cute!

Then Sunday we went to donuts and church (Grandma and Grandpa's normal Sunday routine)
Clockwise from top left: Brinley choosing her donut, deliciousness, Grandma trying to sneak Titus some donut,
Mommy and Aunt Tracy doing some creamer shots (we used to do this ALL THE TIME as kids), and my beautiful girl.

Clockwise from top left: LJ (Brinley's friend), TItus smiling at Grandpa,
Brinley changing baby Bailey's diaper, and Titus doing some deep thinking
Sunday after church we headed home. The trip home was worse than the trip there-- Titus was not very happy for the last two hours but we made it home to my sweet husband (and a clean house!). We didn't leave Grandpa's house empty-handed, either. Look at the loot we got-- THANKS to Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Vicki:
I think we are set for a while....

We had such a fun trip. Thanks to everyone for the memories!
