Catch-Up

I have been bad. Very very bad. I have so many blog posts to write, so many pictures to put up, so many things to tell you all but I have been bad. So instead of writing long posts and filling in EVERY detail, I will rush through these few in order to, in the least, get some of the pictures and quotes saved before they flee from my mind and escape into the land of "forgotten memories".

July was a month full of visitors for us. First we had the blessing of Nanny's visit. Most kids are excited to see their grandparents but (at least with most kids I know) they get to see them often so the excitement isn't as intense and it was for Brinley. Nanny has not been to our house since Brinley was born. Brinley was THRILLED to show Nanny around, play with her, sing with her, etc. Nanny was probably just as excited as Brinley to be able to do day-to-day activities with her. We love our Nanny!

Nanny said she had LOTS of baths
to catch-up on. Mommy didn't argue.

One of the funnier moments (if you excuse the bossiness of it) during Nanny's visiting was when she was singing to Brinley. Brinley LOVES to sing "The Wheels on the Bus" so Nanny started to sing it but she didn't sing it the way Brinley likes to sing (she sang "all through the town") it so Brinley corrected her and said "No, Nanny. All AROUND the town". :-)
They colored quite a bit

A week after Nanny left, Grandma came to visit us. Grandma loves to see Brinley smile and see her excitement so they did LOTS of fun things together. They swam nearly everyday:

They cooked DELICIOUS food:

And we went to the Nature Barn:
Brinley was enthralled with the cat.
We had to drag her away from it to show her the other
(more interesting) animals.

She liked the baby deer

This is the best photo I could get of the goat-
it would come up so fast I couldn't get anything but
a close-up!

The goat loved to nipp at Grandma's shorts
and also took a little bite at Brinley's shirt

Brinley loved to chase the ducks (through the poop and all)

That does NOT look like a comfortable
way to nurse!

Grandma was quizzing Brinley on what animal was in the cage

Brinley had NO CLUE what this animal was...
the pigs in the books we read are NOT covered in wirey hair
and are about 100lbs lighter! :-)

Brinley learned to climb into the windowsill
to wait for Grandma
We also went to the "Cruise Nite" parade:

The sirens scared her

In the parade..... really?

This one is for Uncle Ryan
Grandma also treated Mommy to nicely cleaned carpets!

Whoops... wrong camera setting!
And we painted!

I will end this post with a few random shots of my beautiful little girl....
